Atlassian co-founder and CEO Mike Cannon-Brookes has said AI will unlock new ways for teams to work while increasing, rather than shrinking, the overall number of white-collar knowledge workers. He has consistently framed AI as augmentation rather than replacement; in a November 2025 blog post he wrote that "AI isn't replacing engineers – it's multiplying them" and predicted that "five years from now, we'll have more engineers working for our company than we do today."
