China's Baidu has become a "full-stack AI" company building AI chips (Kunlunxin), the Ernie foundation models, cloud infrastructure and the Apollo Go self-driving business in-house, its CFO explained. On Bloomberg's Odd Lots podcast (aired June 29, 2026), Baidu CFO Henry He discussed the company's vertically integrated AI ecosystem, from hardware to applications. Baidu's investor materials likewise position it as one of the few firms globally with a complete AI stack: cloud infrastructure, its in-house deep learning framework PaddlePaddle, the ERNIE foundation models, applications, and intelligent driving via Apollo Go.
