8 Teams' Humanoids Take Autonomous Penalty Kicks at MWC Shanghai

At MWC Shanghai 2026, held June 24–26, eight Chinese embodied-AI teams competed in a debut "Humanoid Robot Football Penalties Challenge," taking World Cup-style penalty kicks fully autonomously. Roughly 100 rounds were played over two days, drawing more than 10,000 spectators to the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
