An open-source project, "claude-code-local," now lets Anthropic's coding CLI "Claude Code" run 100% locally on Apple Silicon Macs without any cloud connection or API key. It connects Claude Code to local LLMs through an Anthropic Messages API-compatible server running on Apple's MLX framework, and is distributed under the MIT license on GitHub.
