Google Rolls Out Nano Banana 2 Lite, Its Fastest Image Model, in Flow

Google DeepMind on June 30, 2026 launched the latest version of its Gemini image-generation model, "Nano Banana 2 Lite" (officially Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite Image), and began rolling it out the same day to its AI creative studio Google Flow. Optimized for speed and low cost, the model targets rapid drafting of mockup images and iteration on storyboards. According to the official announcement, it reached general availability immediately on Google AI Studio, the Gemini API and the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, and Google Cloud said it is rolling out to the Gemini app, Search (AI Mode), NotebookLM, Google Photos and Google Ads.
